Mark creates a massive custom object / animal / creature right before the audience – and with the help of many volunteers in a fun and engaging enterprise that incorporates science, education, and visual art into a show that kids think is so much fun they don’t know they’re actually learning! Parents comment repeatedly that this offers kids the opportunity to have hands on fun on a large scale, while learning about shapes and whatever item they are building. Past items include a 15+ foot grasshopper, a Hummer sized Honey Bee, a life sized Chef, and MORE!
The kids become the creators and end up with a large colorful creation to enjoy. Not only does your custom creation stay, but quickly becomes a photo opportunity, and a feature lasting a few days.
“Mark’s show was that great combination of education and entertainment that can make the public library a magical place for children. The giant butterfly he constructed was a delight to the children especially because they were able to help piece it together. The balloon twisting class that followed allowed the children to flex their own creativity and channel their excitement. All the while Mark cleverly made sure that the kids also learned a lot about insects and the wonderful transformations that happen in the Spring.”

“We had 108 people show up, the biggest crowd our branch has seen so far this summer. Balloon artist Mark DeVerges had the kids help him make a giant balloon grasshopper, and afterward everyone got a chance to make balloon creatures themselves or have Mark make one for them. It was tons of fun!”
